Gospel with Chorale Vie Nouvelle Choir from Congo

About the concert

The ‘New Life Choir’ (Vie Nouvelle Choir), whose members come to Israel from the Congo, consists of male and female singers, headed by the musician and conductor Tonton Kelupa.

The ensemble performs a church gospel which originates from spirituals which were influenced by African traditions and rhythms. They perform a gospel song from the Congo, sung in English, French, Swahili and Congolese. It is based on the gospel that developed in the USA at the beginning of the last century, which was a combination of work songs together with hymns of praise and praise to God. This is a show that showcases the melting pot in which the special gospel of the members of the "New Life" choir was created.
